The new Frog and Toad series is close to premiering on Apple TV+, and a new trailer gives us a glimpse of what the show will be like.

The trailer is…cute! It features Frog and Toad (of course) as they enjoy nature, eat ice cream, and fly a kite. It sadly doesn’t give any hints that Frog and Toad are anything more than friends, even though the author of the books the show is based on, Arnold Lobel, most likely thought of them as such, at least on a subconscious level.

Here’s the show’s official synopsis:

Frog is a frog. Toad is a toad. They have a lot in common… but they are also very different. Frog and Toad are best friends who know that the true secret to friendship is not only enjoying the things you have in common, but embracing the things that make you different. Since our differences are what makes us special, Frog and Toad celebrate what makes them unique!

The cast of the show includes Nat Faxon (Our Flag Means Death) and Kevin Michael Richardson (The Simpsons, Family Guy) as Frog and Toad. It also includes appearances from Ron Funches (Trolls), Fortune Feimster (Good Fortune, Kenan), Cole Escola (At Home with Amy Sedaris), Aparna Nancherla (The Great North), John Hodgman (Up Here), Yvette Nicole Brown (Disenchanted), Stephen Tobolowsky (The Goldbergs), Tom Kenny (SpongeBob SquarePants), Selene Luna (Coco), Margaret Cho (Fire Island,) and Betsy Sodaro (Duncanville).

Frog and Toad premieres on Apple TV+ on Friday, April 28, 2023.
